Bumper Sticker Process

Concept

Meaning: The meaning behind my sticker is very simple. I chose a phrase that a lot of people agree with or will resonate with. The phrase, "Please let me merge before I start crying" is what many drivers might think about when driving. I also thought that the phrase's meaning was really funny combined with the picture of the possum. I liked that it was quick and funny at the same time.

Typographic Choices:

The typeface I chose to design for this bumper sticker is "HEAVY" However, when I capitalized the letters, it changed fonts and went for an arial type of regular font. I then decided to switch it to the "KALEV GROTESK" font. I then started to italicize and darken the font to be able to give it the form that it has so that it would create a better form and font. I found that this font is used a lot in a lot of magazines, media, and even social media. This font was designed after the letters that were on the former Kalev Sports Hall.
Why did you choose to use the typefaces you used? What kinds of connotations and associations were you trying to facilitate in a viewer/audience?
Include written explanations, images from your research (even if this research happened retroactively), images of your designs, and an image of your final, printed bumper sticker (on a car or stuck on something if possible!).

Reasons and why for font:
I chose the typefaces for my bumper stickers to be able to go along with the theme of the idea of the bumper and to also be able to make the bumper go along with the theme and feel for the bumper sticker.

For this bumper sticker, I intended to make it fun and have it relate to younger audiences or people that may relate to it simultaneously. As shown below, I researched on Google and tried to find bumper stickers that I thought were funny or people would like to put on their bumpers.

As shown below as well, my final bumper sticker is very simple with the font but adding the image of the possum makes it odd but funny at the same time. I believe that adding an animal or even a weird image onto a project makes it all tie together but also makes it funny because it is out of the ordinary and unique. If I were to change anything from my bumper sticker final, I would play more with the font and make it bigger as well as make the bumper sticker more complete at the same time. I think if I added another image or really sketched and thought about the theme of the idea it would become better, however, I do like the final bumper sticker as well.
